We are already familiar with mobiles, tablets, and laptops from Huawei, but the manufacturer has recently launched a new convertible called the huawei matebook e 2-in-1 laptop for global consumers. It is the company’s first tablet and laptop with an OLED display that delivers a fantastic viewing experience.
Matebook E is still a tablet but features Windows 11, Thunderbolt 4, and Tiger Lake UP4 Processors similar to laptops. The impressive first-tablet 2-in-1 laptop looks amazing with an OLED panel and is well built with capable mics, cameras, and speakers.
Huawei Matebook E comprises a 12.6-inch tablet plus an attachable keyboard that includes a kickstand. Apart from that, Huawei offers two SKUs; one with 8 GB RAM, 128 GB SSD storage, and a Core i3 processor, the other contains 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD storage, and a Core i5 chip. There are some other features of the Huawei Matebook E 2-in-1 laptop as follows.
The highlight of the new Matebook E is media consumption because Huawei uses a 12.6 inch OLED display screen with high resolution. It comes with DCI-P3 gamut or RGB modes that look significantly duller. Huawei packs a set of stereo speakers to make the media experience much better. It has better webcams of 8MP front and 13MP back with an LED flash to take pictures and record videos in a pinch using this Matebook.
The Matebook E tablet is thin and lightweight and has a footprint measuring 306mm wide by 215mm deep only in landscape mode, in comparison to Microsoft’s 13-inch surface pro which is 9.3mm thick and has a footprint measuring 287mm wide by 208mm deep. It is strongly built with a magnesium frame, rounded corners, and an inconspicuous matte-grey covering. The back plates of the tablet pick up the fingerprints. It comes with an attached keyboard and the Huawei M-Pencil is optional.
Performance and battery life
The Matebook E can handle some productivity, but it doesn’t have long battery life because of low wattage, it barely gets past four hours. It is powered by an 11th-generation core i5-1130G7 processor with 16GB of RAM, including core i3 and i7 models. These processors are not as fast as a typical laptop CPU and provide the lowest performance as they are from Intel’s 9W range.
The Huawei Matebook E isn’t available in the United States, but you can buy it from Germany at the rate of 1,199€ including a Magnetic Keyboard and M-Pencil. Matebook E is one of the best two-in-one laptops that Huawei offers with an impressive OLED screen, camera, mics, and speakers.
