How To Make a Lace Front Wig Look Natural?

How To Make a Lace Front Wig Look Natural?

Ultimate loves wearing both natural and synthetic human hair wigs. If we are honest, however, we wouldn’t want the entire world to know that we wear a wig.

A wig can make you feel as confident and beautiful as natural hair.

There are several things you can do to ensure your hair wig is your most treasured secret. This does not mean that you should go out and buy the most expensive human-hair wig.

A high-quality wig can make a wig look natural. But if it isn’t properly styled and attached, it will look as fake as a $50 synthetic costume.

These are the 8 top tips from our cosmetologist to make your wig look natural.

1. Replace Your Wig Regularly

Wearing an old, stale wig is the best way to show the world you are wearing a wig.

Unfortunately, there is no wig that can grow new hair. We are left with wigs that become less quality over time. A wig that is past its prime cannot be saved by any amount of cap adjustments or wig styling products.

Your synthetic hair wigs should be replaced every 3 to 6 month and your natural hair wigs should be replaced every 6 to 12months.

2. Two words: Rooted. Colors.

It’s unlikely your hair will be just one color unless you have naturally dark hair.

Many people have a variety of hair colors and gradients.

These gradients are called ” dimension” by your stylist. We call them “the main reason why wigs dyed with just one color look so fake.”

Wigs with rooted colours, on the contrary, replicate the natural gradients of bio hair by mixing multiple colors.

You can’t find a wig you like that has rooted colors. You can either look for a wig with a blend of two colors, or ask your stylist to highlight and lowlight a wig two shades from the base color.

3. Look out for Monofilament Tops and Lace Fronts

Keira Knightley wore hair wigs on sets and at red carpet events over the years. She was not aware of her baldness until she opened up about it.

How did she manage to keep everyone guessing about her hairstyle?

With lace fronts, and monofilament tops.

Lace front wigs give the illusion of natural hairline. They make it appear like your wig hair is growing out of your head.

Monofilament tops are the same, except for the wig. Monofilament tops are hand-sewn, and each hair is sewn in to the wig. This allows the hairs to move freely and allows you to take the wig apart as you wish.

4. You’re a mess!

It’s a sign that something is too perfect, especially if it has wigs. This is usually an indication that the thing is fake. Evidently, wig companies don’t know this.

Many wigs arrive in boxes with perfectly shaped parts that make you think, “This isn’t my natural hair!”

Once your new wig arrives at your home, you will need to carefully remove a few strands using a pair of tweezers. Next, use baby scissors to trim a few strands. Then, pick a few hairs to place on either side of the part.

Imperfection never looked so perfect.

5. Trim Your Wig

“It is a universal truth that a woman who wants a great haircut must wait at least two weeks before her hair grows out.” – Jane AustenUltimate Looks

We are usually not happy with a new cut until our hair has grown out. You can achieve that natural, grown-out look by taking your wig to a stylist to have her use a razor to add layers to the wig or to trim any jagged edges.

6. Mix it Up

Although lace front wigs can mimic a natural hairline, they are not as good as the real thing. If you have natural hair, you can blend your natural hairline with a lace-front wig.

How to blend your natural hairline with a lace front wig

Step 1: Position your wig a little further back than normal, so that your natural hairline is exposed.

Step 2: Attach the wig fully.

Step 3: Apply a little dry shampoo to your hairline and the wig’s part. Use your fingers to comb everything together.

TIP Maintaining perfectly manicured edges is the key to flawless installations. If you have long, curly hair, your wig will probably have them. A key ingredient to creating flawless illusions is mimicking your edges. It keeps people guessing.

NOTE: It’s important to match your hair’s natural color with your wig color if you want to use this trick.

6. Know your size

The right size wig will not only make your head feel more comfortable but will also look natural.

Take out your tape measure to determine the size of your wig.

Start at the front and wrap the tape behind your ears to the nape. Next, match the measuring tape to the other end of your hairline.

Repeat the measurement to ensure you measure accurately.

Ask a friend for help if you aren’t sure after measuring several times.

8. Always line up your wig with your natural hairline

Your wig won’t look natural if it isn’t positioned correctly. It is crucial that you properly align your wig every time you put it on.

First, place your wig on top of your eyebrows to align your wig correctly with your natural hairline.

Next, slide the wig slowly back over your head until it touches the nape of the next.

Slide the wig forward until it reaches your natural hairline. Secure the straps and you are done!
