Online Procedure To Obtain Battery Import Registration
The procedure to obtain lithium battery import registration is simple and easy.
- The battery importer must fill out an application for the registration of goods imported for sale or use in India. This form is available on government websites.
- Once this form is filled correctly and attached to all required documents then it’s time to pay the online fee through an online banking facility or debit or credit card payment gateway like Paypal or Netbanking etc. Once payment is done then your application will be sent to DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) who will process it within 2-3 days time period
- The importer has to enter details like the name of the company, address, PAN, and other such details. Then he should attach a copy of the Bill of Lading (B/L), which is issued by the Shipping Company when goods are shipped from abroad.
- This document must have the original seal and signature of the Shipping Company and also a stamp from the Customs Department of the country where the goods are shipped from.
- Check whether there are any restrictions on the type of batteries you want to export. This can be done by contacting your local customs office and asking them about it. Once you know that there are no restrictions, then you can proceed with the other steps.
