Basics of Laser Interferometry and Applications
Lasers are the ideal light sources for interferometry and have indeed revolutionized the field. Because they made interferometry so simple, a large number of applications in numerous fields have been created that are based either on two-beam or multiple-beam interference.
The aim of this course is to enable the participants become familiar with all the major issues relating to any kind of interferometer, including fiberoptic ones. In this way, they would be able to understand the applications that have been developed and to create their own applications with confidence.
Many laboratory demonstrations will be shown to enhance the understanding of the various interferometric phenomena. The teaching style will be very interactive to ensure that the material covered is understood by all.
The length of the course can vary from one day to three days, depending on the interests, needs and background of the participants.
